First Year Highlights

You started off so small...
Now you have grown so tall!
Dearest Carla Ann,

We have loved every moment of your first year.  Every day has literally been something new and exciting for you and us.  We love your curiosity to learn, your determination to try new things, your willingness to figure out things all by yourself, your interest in other people and animals, your excitement when seeing your family and friends, your love of the outdoors, and your sweet and gentle nature.  We love YOU and everything about you.

Over the last year you have accomplished amazing feats and we are so proud of you!  Here are some of your firsts....
Smile - 5/8/11 - You smiled at Dada on Mother's Day.
Swim - 7/4/11 - While celebrating the 4th of July.
Roll over - 7/16/11 - You went from your back to your stomach and the next day you went from your stomach to your back.
Road trip - 7/29/11 - We traveled to Katy.
Plane trip - 8/31/11 - We traveled to visit Grandma and Grandpa in Wisconsin.
Laugh - 9/9/11 - You found it hilarious when Mama said "Boo."
Pumpkin patch - 10/9/11 - Hope you love punkins as much as we do!
Tooth - 10/12/11 - It was your bottom left tooth.
Sit up - 10/29/11
Big boo boo - 11/28/11 - You bumped your head leaving a remarkable bruise just days before your baptism.
Crawl - 12/12/11
Standing up - 1/3/12 - We found you standing up in your crib after your nap.
Word - 1/17/12 - You said "Dadada" when he walked into the room.
Drink from a cup - 1/22/12
Standing without hands - 1/26/12
Second word - 2/2/12 - You pointed and said "light."
Third word - 2/6/12 - You pointed at your star and said "sta."
Clap - 2/9/12
Feed yourself with a spoon - 2/9/12
Steps - 2/25/12 - You went after Mama's string of pearls!
Wave bye bye - 3/4/12 - You waved bye to us.

Your first year has also been filled with so many fun and funny moments.  Remember the night we forgot to put a diaper on you?  Oops!  Then there was the time we tried to trick you with a "fake" lovey and you were too smart for that one.  We used to spent long periods of time on your diaper changing table just singing and having fun.  And we will always remember when you started to give us the biggest smile after waking up in the morning or at naps when you recognized us as your parents.

You are our sweet and precious baby girl.  We love you and will always love you.

XOXO,
Mama and Dada
