Mommy Staycation

The gals and I were itching to take a vacation but find it too hard to leave the babies.  The compromise – a vacation right here in Austin, Texas!  Anuva, Karol, Karen, and I left the babies with the husbands on Saturday afternoon and didn’t come home until Sunday morning.  Were we excited or what?!?!?!  We spent most the time talking about the little ones and gushing about how fun it is to be a mom and saying how we love seeing our husbands as dads.  Man, oh man!  It sure was nice to have some good old-fashioned girl time!

We made all these plans to have a picnic in the afternoon followed by stand-up paddling boarding.  We got off to a later start so the picnic was nixed.  Then we did try to go paddle boarding but the wait was an hour.  So we just headed back to our hotel and lounged at the pool to have our own fun.  Then we got dolled up and went out to dinner with a Groupon deal (because we are money saving moms!) and then hung out at a wine bar.  And we even stayed out late until 11pm!  It was a great vacation.

Frank loved getting to spend time with Carla Ann, especially having been gone all week.  And it sounds like all the other husbands also had fun with the babies and successfully got them all to bed.  Thanks, Daddies, for letting us gals hang out!
