6 Month Check-Up

Today Carla Ann had her 6 month doctor visit.  The big question we had for the doctor was, "What color are her eyes?"  We just can never seem to tell.  Sometimes they look brown, other times green, and occasionally even blue.  The doctor's expert opinion is......drum roll, please.....she has "spy eyes."  He was making a reference to the Bourne Identity movies and books.  Her eyes will change based on what she is wearing.  So there you go!  Looks like I can finally fill in the eye color in her baby book!

I had the doc look at this tiny line I noticed in one of her pupils.  He wasn't too worried about it but he's sending us to see a children's ophthalmologist to get her eyes dilated to check for cataracts (which do run on the Geck side).

Here are her official measurements:
Weight: 14 lbs 13 oz (25%)
Height: 27 inches (90%)
Head circumference: 42.7 cm (60%)

Today I took time to let it sink in that my little baby girl is 6 months old.  Where has the time gone?!?  She has grown leaps and bounds while still keeping her sweet little personality.  Here is what she is up to these days:
  • She's babbling and talking all the time.  Lots of squealing and squeaking and recently she's been making an H sound and a D sound.  I'm trying to get Dada to be her first word.  Or chicken.
  • Smiling and laughing
  • Rolling everywhere!  I put her down in one spot and next thing I know she's rolled herself across the room.
  • She's sitting up and can almost sit up by herself.  Everyday we practice and she can go longer and longer before falling over.
  • She's starting to push herself up on her knees.
  • Her second tooth has broken through - it's her bottom right one.
  • She's a snuggler and this just makes me so happy.  Sometimes we will just rock in the chair and I'll hum a little tune and she'll nestle right in and suck her two favorite fingers.  I could be in this moment forever!
Am I cute or what?
