Mr. Pyburn

This afternoon we went to visit my friend Mr. Pyburn.  For the past 8 years I have been visiting him once a month as a volunteer.  He is a sweet, sweet man who has been so excited about baby Carla.  Today he got to meet her for the first time.

Now, the mere mention of a baby in a nursing home causes quite a buzz of excitement amongst the residents who want to know ALL about the baby.  But a real, live baby AT the nursing home....well, that is an off-the-charts, blow-your-mind, jump-out-of-your-wheelchair thrill.  Oh, was everyone excited!  Everyone swarmed to her and they were smiling, cooing, and making faces at her.  Miss Carla Ann was very overwhelmed by the situation and just started crying.  Well, as soon as we found Mr. Pyburn, he took one look at her and said, "I love you."  And she was smitten.  She instantly calmed and spent the rest of the visit just smiling at him.

  1. I think it is a great idea to take her there! It means so much to those folks who may never get to see a baby.
