Frank went on his first hunting trip this weekend. It was at this super fancy and exclusive exotic game ranch called Greenwood Valley Ranch. He came home with an axis deer (shot 5 minutes before sundown on Saturday night), a box of Fredericksburg peaches, and a new redneck accent. The trip was a success!
My mom came to spend the weekend with me and Carla Ann. We checked out the Burnet Road Farmers Market and picked up a sugar baby watermelon, peaches, tomatoes, and squash.
I finally mustered up the courage to take Carla Ann to the grocery store for the first time. I had been nervous if she could handle it without getting fussy. She did great so all that worry was for nothing. She was asleep when we arrived but woke up to check out all the sounds and sights and people stopping to peek at her.
Then I was able to make a nice dinner on Saturday. I was so excited to cook and took advantage of peach season by making fish tacos with peach salsa, cilantro rice, and peach cobbler. Karen, Ken, Leo, and Karen’s parents joined us for dinner bringing a delicious bean salad and mango lemonade spritzers.
Carla Ann’s new thing this weekend was holding her right fist straight up in the air in this “power to the people” pose.
Babies unite! We shall overcome! |
Hooray for your first g-store trip! I know it is a scary hurdle to overcome at first...
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing that Carla Ann is already checking out her own hand, what a cute pose!
That "power to the babies" pose is classic. Thanks you so much for having us over to your harmonious home. When we leave all we do is talk about your great food, great vibes, and great baby.
ReplyDeleteCarla Ann's eyes just pop in every picture.
ReplyDeleteI want some peach cobbler, too.
Once you have done the grocery store the rest is a breeze! I'm a big fan of my baby bjorne and can pretty much go anywhere with her in that.
