Carla Ann's lovey is a soft pink giraffe. When she's sleepy she goes to get her lovey from her crib. She sucks her pointer and middle finger of her left hand and holds her lovey in her right hand. She holds it close to her face, gently stroking it against her nose or with her left hand fingers, and occasionally sucking on an ear. It's great because it's become her *sign* that she's ready for sleepy land.

"I love you, lovey. Let's go to sleep!" |
I started to think about the possibility of one day accidentally losing this lovey. Eek! I immediately got online and ordered three more just like it. When they arrived I opened the package and laid them all out for her. She meticulously inspected each ear. When it wasn't the original lovey she tossed it aside like chopped liver. It wasn't until she found HERS - meaning the one with the musty smell and brownish, chewed up ears - did she pop her fingers in her mouth and cuddle it to her face.
